Although there is much positive press about how many jobs are being created, U.S. employment in April 2022 was still 1.2 million below its pre-pandemic level from February 2020. Over the last twelve months, job gains have mostly occurred in the lower paying leisure & hospitality sector (arts, entertainment, sports, accommodation, food service & drinking establishments) and professional & business services sectors (mostly temporary help services). Sadly, employment in the nursing & residential care sector continues to decline year over year.
